Pinoy Recipe: Delicious Le-che Flan Recipe

Le-che Flan is one of the most favorite dessert of all Filipino, it is rich in custard dessert with a layer of soft caramel on top.

It takes some luck making it just right so that the le-che flan will hold its shape when removed from the mold.

Below is the easy and delicious recipe on how to make a Le-che Flan.


- 10 egg yolks

- 12 ounces of canned evaporated milk

- 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk

- half teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 1 cup of brown sugar

- 1/4 cup of water


1. Dissolve a cup of brown sugar in 1/4 cup of water.

2. Add small amount of calamansi or lemon juice

3. Heat until you get a very thick consistency.

4. Use the mixture to coat the inside walls of custard cups or the mold you’re using.

Le-che Flan:

1. In a mixing bowl, blend the ingredients (eggs, milk, vanilla) thoroughly but not so much that it becomes foamy.

2. Pour the Sugar Syrup in to your mold/baking pan.

3. Pour the Lecheplan mixture into the mold/baking pan.

4. Cover the baking pan with the aluminum foil

5. Place the baking pan in the steamer for about 45 minutes

To test if the le-che flan is done, insert a knife. If it comes out clean, the flan is ready to be taken out of the oven.

After cooling, turn the mold/baking pan upside down and gently dislodge the flan. by inserting a knife. If it comes out clean, it is cooked.
